Pinocchio, whose fictional adventures are among the most famous and reinterpreted stories in the 20th Century is now at the center of Villa Bardini’s latest exhibit. The show examines the tremendous influence on the art world this beloved character has had over the last one hundred years.
From Giacometti to LaChapelle, from Munari to Paladino, from Calder to Ontani, from McCarthy to Venturino Venturi, Pinocchio has not only left an indisputable mark on the collective imagination, but also the arts, the latter of which is this show’s main theme.
