Until September 3 at Palazzo Strozzi, will take place the exhibition dedicated to Yan Pei-Ming, entitled "Painting Histories". This event represents the most impressive exhibition ever realized in Italy in honor of the Franco-Chinese artist and is an integral part of the artistic project Palazzo Strozzi Future Art, developed in collaboration with the Hillary Merkus Recordati Foundation. Yan Pei-Ming is renowned for his deep and passionate exploration of the role of painting in contemporary art.
In his monumental works, he skilfully combines history and contemporaneity, combining famous works of art, public figures and intimate subjects.
The exhibition, curated by Arturo Galansino, General Director of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation, offers visitors a journey through over thirty works of art. These works allow you to immerse yourself in the powerful and original investigation of the artist on the connection between image and reality. The artist creates a sort of short circuit between his personal life and the collective history, between symbols and icons of culture and art history from East and West.
Yan Pei-Ming explores different pictorial genres, including portrait, landscape, still life and historical painting. His canvases come to life from a variety of photographic sources, including personal images, newspaper covers, cinematographic frames and celebrated historical artwork.
