Baselitz. AVANTI!
The exhibition “Baselitz. AVANTI!” at Museo Novecento offers a broad overview of Georg Baselitz’s printmaking practice, presenting around 170 works including prints, paintings, and sculptures that highlight the central role of mark‑making and process in his research.
Deeply connected to Florence, the artist foregrounds his distinctive inversion of images, a device that shifts visual orientation and introduces a new way of reading the figure, opening up a renewed perceptual experience.
From 25 March to 13 September 2026, the exhibition retraces more than six decades of activity, revealing the innovative scope of his practice and its dialogue with Florentine artistic traditions, particularly the anti‑classical experimentation of the sixteenth century.
Exhibition hours: From Monday to Sunday from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. Closed on Thursdays.
Venue: Museo Novecento, Florence
