Broken
On view from September 25, 2026 to January 24, 2027, Palazzo Strozzi presents Broken. The Power of the Fragment, a major exhibition exploring the role of the fragment in the history of sculpture, from antiquity to contemporary art. More than 80 works, from Michelangelo and Rodin to Louise Bourgeois and Francesco Vezzoli, present the fragment not as a mere remnant, but as an autonomous form capable of preserving memory, history, and new possibilities for artistic expression.
The exhibition traces the history of the fragment in sculpture, from antiquity to contemporary art, through more than eighty works by great masters such as Michelangelo, Rodin, and Louise Bourgeois. A journey across different eras and cultures that explores the fragment not only as a trace of loss, but as a testament to memory, transformation, and new possibilities of artistic expression.
Exhibition hours: Every day, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM. Thursdays until 11:00 PM.
Venue: Palazzo Strozzi, Florence
