Party Of Life: Keith Haring, Doria 1905

Once an essential accessory in every wardrobe, the hat takes center stage in an initiative hosted in the hall of the Hotel Bernini Palace—once a traditional hat workshop—running from June 12 to 15 during Pitti Immagine Uomo. Young design talents have created unique pieces inspired by hats, paired with the capsule collection Toodoria by Doria 1905. The exhibition is presented alongside works by pop art master Keith Haring, creating a dialogue between contemporary design, fashion heritage, and iconic artistic language.

The hotel will host the exhibition “Party Of Life” in its lobby, bringing together multiple inspirations under the banner of beauty and style. The protagonists are the hats from the Toodoria capsule collection, an exclusive line by Doria 1905, paired with creations by a group of young designers from the three-year Fashion Design course at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, coordinated by Professor Rossella Piergallini. The exhibition also includes a selection of paintings by Keith Haring, coming from the major exhibition held at the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna, organized to mark the 60th anniversary of the artist’s birth.

A dialogue between pop art and fashion, in a distinctly Sixties-inspired vision, breaks down the boundaries between mass and elite culture, reinterpreting the codes of taste and beauty through Warhol-like references and touches of glamour. In a single space, the exhibition brings together the masterpieces of Keith Haring, works by young designers—such as the “Heart Drops” hats in Saffron Yellow and Salt White cotton, unique pieces each provided with their own “identity card”—and hats created by one of the historic Made in Italy brands, Doria 1905. Through these highly expressive accessories, the brand conveys the essence of its stylistic and conceptual research, reaffirming its identity within contemporary design.

An original initiative is presented in a unique location: the lobby of the hotel, which once served as a hat workshop. Looking up along the walls, visitors can admire antique sculpted heads displaying eccentric hats. The setting is enhanced by a play of soft lights and shadows, painterly drapery effects, decorations, and fine fabrics, all elevated by the restoration carried out by the Duetorrihotels, of which the Hotel Bernini Palace is one of the flagship properties.
