Beato Angelico, the artist who symbolizes 15th-century art
From September 26, 2025 to January 25, 2026, Florence pays tribute to Beato Angelico with an exhibition of exceptional cultural value, organized in collaboration between the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, the Museum of San Marco, and the Ministry of Culture – Regional Directorate of National Museums of Tuscany. A two-venue journey that traces the evolution of the artist’s language, from late Gothic roots to the principles of the Renaissance.
The exhibition brings together over 140 works including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and miniatures, featuring major international loans and an extensive restoration campaign that also allows for the reunification of altarpieces that had been separated for centuries. It is the first major Florentine monographic exhibition dedicated to the artist in 70 years, following the historic 1955 show.
Exhibition hours: daily 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; Thursday extended opening until 11:00 p.m.
Venues: Palazzo Strozzi and Museum of San Marco, Florence
